The International Institute of Christian Counseling was founded in response to a need that became apparent during the operation of Pastoral Counseling Center. It was observed that many of those called to the ministry of Christian Counseling did not have the foundation required to master the information being presented. Students needed a source for an educational Bachelor's degree before proceeding to a Master's degree.
While the coursework provided was excellent for those who had already earned a Bachelor's or Master's degree, there was a lack of foundational education offered to those who still needed to earn a Bachelor's degree. This was seen as a perfect opportunity to offer a Bachelor's Degree in Christian Counseling that would provide a superior foundation in both the disciplines of counseling and theology. Once so equipped, the student should find the achievement of a graduate degree to be a normal progression into a familiar area of study producing counselors with an extraordinarily sound foundation and background.
